Hiking Distinctive peaks, clear mountain lakes, gushing streams - so pure you can drink from them, an elaborate array of alpine flora, once in resplendent glory, then in unassuming beauty, all these impressions and varying opportunities are undescribable in the Dachstein Tauern mountain region.
The long stretched out resort of Rohrmoos-Untertal in the heart of the Schladming / Dachstein Tauern region, stretches from the high mountains of the "Niedere Tauern" to the mountain town of Schladming and is an alpine hiking centre. The sunny Rohrmoos plateau with its grand valleys "Ober and Untertal", the two local mountains Hochwurzen and Planai plus the water-rich Schladminger Tauern, attract many hikers and nature-lovers to the mountains from the spring through to late autumn.
At an altitude of between 750 m and 2,850 m you can hike in and around Rohrmoos. You'll find further information regarding the best footpaths on the Hochwurzen under www.wandern.com.
