Chronicle and history
of the Hotel Waldfrieden
Join us on a journey into the past, back to the origins of the Hotel Waldfrieden. It all started in 1958. This is where the hotel was built for generations. Honest, down to earth, humble. Proud of what has been created.

That's how it all started. In 1958 Maria Schrempf built the Gasthaus Waldfrieden with some rooms for guest rental.
1964/1965

Additional to the inn, the parents Maria and Rudolf Stocker built the Pension Waldfrieden with 16 rooms in 1964-1965. At that time, some rooms already had a bathroom and a toilet in the room.
1976/1977

Large construction works in the years 1976/1977. The entire roof structure was also renewed.
Our hotel then had 38 rooms, a floor elevator and large guest rooms.

In the spring of 1987, the hotel built the outdoor swimming pool.

In the years 1996/1997 the next major renovation phase took place, which was already carried out by Karin and Kurt Stocker. The "Häusl" was almost completely renovated and connected to the main house by a connecting passage. A beautiful sauna area was created in the hotel itself. The restaurant for hotel guests was enlarged and the number of guest rooms increased to 45.

In the spring of 2006, an new complex was built on the south side of the hotel. In addition to the basement rooms, the entrance and reception area was generously expanded and the rooms on this side of the house were enlarged with an additional living space.
2011

From April to December 2011 there was a lot of contructions. The result was: 10 new rooms, the spacious indoor pool area with the wonderful panoramic relaxation room, a beautiful fitness room with a scenic view and a larger wellness area as well as a new staircase with a large floor lift. Furthermore 20 covered car parking spaces.

In autumn 2018 we rebuilt and enlarged our winter garden restaurant. At the same time, the Zirbenstube was renovated and equipped with a nice bar.
